Easy Peasy Biscuits
Gather your Ingredients
2¼ Cups Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Sugar
⅓ cup Shortening or Butter
1 cup Milk
1 Tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
extra flour for the counter
Let's get started
Pre-heat oven to 400*
Spray your cookie sheet with nonstick spray or line with parchment paper set aside
Add the lemon juice to the milk mix and set aside, milk will look spoiled that's ok that's what you want you just made buttermilk.
In a large bowl add flour, baking powder, salt and sugar mix well.
Cut in shortening or butter with two forks it should look like coarse crumbs.
Now slowly add half of the milk and mix, then add the remainder of the milk and mix until combined.
Sprinkle flour to your countertop and drop your biscuit dough onto the floured surface and kneed about 15-20 times.
Pat out flat or roll out with a rolling pin, cut out biscuits with a biscuit cutter or a drinking glass dip in flour before cutting biscuits.
Place cut biscuits onto the prepared cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes. (Ovens vary in temperature)
Brush tops with butter as they come out or cut in half and butter the two halves.
Once baked butter them up and enjoy with jams or sausage gravy or just with butter and honey.
