Overnight Barbacoa De Cachete (cheek) y lengua(tongue)
Gather your Ingredients
3 lbs. Lengua
3 -4 lbs. of Cachete
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. cumin powder
1 tsp. knorr pollo
3 bay leaves
1/2 c. water
Let's get started
Line your slow cooker with slow cooker liners.
Not sponsored just my favorite product to use.
Add water, onion, and the spices and mix.
Cut meat into big pieces and place into your slow cooker.
Cover with lid.
Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours or 8 hours on slow or until tender.
I cooked mine overnight on low.
Once the meat is tender you can shred it with 2 forks.
Once you have shredded the meat place all the meat into a pot over medium heat and cook for about 10 minutes you will see the meat darken then it's ready.
Take meat out from your pot you don't want it to continue cooking it will dry out.
The way we serve it in my home is buffet style with the warm corn or flour tortillas, pico de gallo, salsa, some lime wedges, avocados, avocado salsa, and salt.
Everyone prepares their own tacos/tortas.
